I got called an idiot today, on the Forza Minardi message board. I'm not sure how long I've been hanging around on boards and chatrooms and places like this – summer of 1999 is the earliest I can remember – but I'm pretty sure that's the first time anyone's taken a pot at me like that*. The closest I can recall is a few pointed comments from Joe on T21 – and even they weren't much.
Not really sure how to react to this – my first inclination was to rend him from limb to limb (which would be difficult, as he's in Australia), my next was to rend his arguments similarly. On cold reflection, the best bet seems to be laughing it off – he tends towards the self-important and he'd like that least. But by the time I saw the post the discussion had moved on and it would seem petty to rake his comments up. So I guess I'm going to ignore it. But it really goes against the grain to do so…
* Edit: I'm forgetting when I used to run a message board for the Hounslow Liberal Democrats – it was open season on me there from political opponents. But I think's that different.
